Each year, more than 1.5 million patients in the U.S. suffer from low bone density-related fractures. Own the Bone is a hospital-based quality improvement multi-specialty approach to prevent additional fragility fractures. Own the Bone provides tools to help hospitals and physicians improve the diagnosis and management of patients' bone health after suffering fragility fractures in order to reduce the risk of repeat fractures.
The AOA developed Own the Bone in response to the growing prevalence of osteoporosis and low bone mass in people aged 50+.
