To provide support for participating sites, their program coordinators, and bone health clinicians, Own the Bone launched an APP/Coordinator Bootcamp in 2024. The Zoom bootcamp offered a useful curriculum intended to provide insight, guidance, and tips to APPs and coordinators who were new to performing bone health consults and setting up a service for the first time at their institutions. Through the bootcamp, they were connected with and learned from experienced bone health APPs through live interactive sessions and recorded content.
These virtual sessions were organized by and taught by expert Own the Bone APP clinicians. Nurse and APP coordinators at enrolled Own the Bone institutions were encouraged to attend these sessions to:
- Learn important clinical skills and program considerations from tailored didactic topics.
- Participate in interactive patient case presentations.
- Ask clinical and logistical questions about bone health programs.
- Network with fellow bone health coordinator colleagues.
