Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss the fragility fracture epidemic and how secondary fracture prevention efforts help solve the problem.
  • Analyze multidisciplinary implementation considerations for a Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) model of care for secondary fracture prevention.
  • Investigate and practice completing a patient work-up for osteoporosis.
  • Discuss current and potential pharmacologic management strategies for the patient with or at risk for osteoporosis.
  • Investigate multidisciplinary post-fracture management and prevention strategies related to bone health through case studies.
